BAHAMAS WAHOO CHAMPIONSHIP 2010-2011 Tournament Season
The Bahamas Wahoo Championship, entering its 14th year of competition, announces the 2010-2011 schedule of completion.
The first leg will be held at Old Bahama Bay, West End, Grand Bahama Island. Registration will be on December 1st, 2010 and the tournament ends December 4th. This will be the first time that the first leg will be held at Old Bahama Bay, a decision made after receiving numerous suggestions from the participating anglers. Old Bahama Bay is a favorite destination for Wahoo anglers because of its proximity to the fertile Wahoo fishing grounds of the Northern Bahamas. A new Bahamas Wahoo Championship record of a 102 pound Wahoo was set this year at Old Bahama Bay.
The second leg is scheduled February 2nd to 5th, 2011 and will also be held at Old Bahama Bay. This tournament will be held in conjunction with the Old Bahama Bay Open Fishing tournament. Boats will be able to fish both tournaments after paying only one entry fee. Fishing for billfish, Wahoo, tuna and dolphin has been outstanding in February at Old Bahama Bay and thus the Managers at the resort are fulfilling a request to stage this event in February. It is logical to stage this event in conjunction with the Second Leg of the Bahamas Wahoo Championship.
The third and final Leg of the Bahamas Wahoo Championship returns to Port Lucaya Marina and will be held March 13th to 18th, 2011. This Leg will once again be held in conjunction with the 32nd Annual Bacardi Rum Billfish Championship and anglers will have the opportunity to fish both tournaments with one entry fee.
